I attended the Ingrid Michaelson concert at In the Venue on Tuesday.  And I can gladly say that Ingrid concerts are the best kind of concerts.  She is pure genius I tell you!  She writes such glorious songs, it just blows my mind.

She covered R.E.M.'s "Nightswimming" accapella with a looping machine.  So I thought I'd share with you this treat:

Yeah, I know, legit, right?

To the cute boy who made my day.

I'd imagine I didn't have the happiest look on my face this morning as I was trudging through the cold to my 7:30 a.m. opera class.  So when you smiled at me and said, "Good Morning," it caught me by surprise.  Me, in my awkwardness, replied with a "Hey," which was intended to be a warm hello, but because of the cold, came out more like a squeak. Your friendly self kept smiling, and I enjoyed the view.  So, thank you for making my gloomy cold morning brighter.

I like that about myself, and I like myself, and I have many other great qualities as well.

In-and-Out.  And a walmart spree.  Could life get any better?  I submit, it cannot.

I've been tagged

Thank you, Courtney, for tagging me. I would absolutely love to answer your questions!  okay, here it goes:

1. what is your absolute favorite line from a movie?
Aww crap, I don't know where to start.  I'm just going to make a list.
"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." --Forrest Gump
"Have fun being married to Satan!" --Hot Rod
"You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you." --Pride and Prejudice (I'm a sucker for romance)
The list goes on and on.

2. what is your favorite halloween tradition?
Chili with the neighbors, carving pumpkins, dressing up, and the divine aroma of pumpkin spice.

3. what is your favorite seasonal clothing to wear and why?
Hands down, sweaters. I love sweater weather!

4. what is your favorite part about weddings?
There's love in the air.  You're surrounded by your family and friends who you love, and amazing food.  The beautiful flowers, and wedding dress...Aww!  I just love it all. So romantic.

5. at what point in your day do you find yourself the most exhausted?
After my practice room time I just want to go home and crash.  Singing is physical; it takes your whole body to sing.  And the emotional part of it just combines to completely exhaust you.

6. in all seriousness, what could you just honestly not live without?

The Gospel, family, friends, and music,

7. if you could be anyone in the world, this century or before, who would you choose to be?
Ingrid Michaelson or Zooey Deschanel. But in all actuality, I would want to be myself. I'd like that best.

8. what is your favorite way to unwind from a completely ridiculous day full of chaos?
I would like to be with close friends immersed in laughter.  And some great music wouldn't hurt either.

I hope my answers didn't bore you to death.  But there you go!

I'm going to tag Courtney (my sister), Melanie, Emily, and Kristy!

1. What's your favorite Holiday, and why?
2. What's something that you have recently learned?
3. Describe your ideal Saturday.
4. If you won 1 million dollars, what would you do with it?
5. What are you most grateful for?
6. What are you being for Halloween this year?
7. What's your favorite childhood memory?
8. Who's your favorite music artist, and why?

Get blogging! :)

Samuel Barber

One of my favorite composers, and one of my favorite songs.  If you don't consider this beautiful you don't have a heart.

The World Spins Madly On.

I'm just going to set a warning for this post that it's kind of all over the place.  This is how my brain is right now and I can't seem to organize it all.  So really this is a great depiction of my life at the moment.  But I thought I should give an update since I haven't written in a while.

I cut my bangs. (With the help of the wonderful Alex Saxton.)

If you haven't already figured it out, I'm a bit obsessed with The 500 days of Summer soundtrack at the moment.  I just can't get over it.

Maybe it's the new bangs.  Who knows?

For some dumb reason I have this retarded tension going on when I'm singing.  And I've been working so hard to get rid of it.  I can't figure it out.  I love my new voice teacher though; she is awesome. I'm learning SO much!  It's crazy.  Hopefully I will get over this and just relax.  But it's really frustrating me...

Fall is the best season ever.  I might possibly be in love with it.

Logan Canyon

Another Logan Canyon

Did you enjoy General Conference?  Cause I sure did!  I think my favorite talk was President Uchtdorf's.  He is such a great speaker.

My favorite thing that was said at conference was actually from the Relief Society General Meeting:

"When you judge someone you don't have any time to love them."

Sometimes I think this world needs a little more charity.  I hope I can work better at having charity towards others.

My Mom, sisters, and grandma came for a visit on Friday night.  I was happy to see them; I miss them.

I got to show my family around where I spend most of my time in the Fine Arts building.  And my mom brought me food.  Hooray!

Outside the Fine Arts building with Sisters.

On Saturday, Courtney, Missy, Kenzie, and I decided to make a picnic equipped with chicken salad sandwiches and lemon cupcakes.  Missy found this cute little platform next to a stream so we claimed our spot and had a delightful little dinner.  It was so fun!  I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think that's about it.  Stay tuned!  Hopefully, I'll have some more adventures to post soon!

   Caity Lady

(thank you Courtney and Missy for the new nickname.  I think it's beginning to stick.)

P.S. 15 days till INGRID!!!!!
Oh, and I miss having a dishwasher/disposal
