A Sentimental Journey

Sorry I've been M.I.A. lately.
I know there is no excuse; I promise I will be a better blogger. Here's what I've been up to lately:
A trip to Preston, ID
(don't worry mom, I promise I don't have a problem/I only bought three)
Napoleon D.
and cookie factories
I'm "Fall"ing in love with the Fall Colors!  Cheesy?  Yes, but, it's true.
Fall strolls/drives through Logan Town,
skunks,
and caves
Legit prescription nerd glasses,
Pumpkin choco chip cookies= EPIC FAIL
and fun people.

I am having a good time in little foggy Logan Town.
Now, if only I can survive these next two weeks of school it could turn out to be an early Christmas Miracle!

P.S. I extended the deadline for my poll on the right side bar, so please take a second and vote!  I have some exciting ideas for the blog coming soon :)

The Magic Ratio

Alright Folks,

I'm sure that a lot of you have been bugged by my posts lately.  Well, I'm here to apologize for being such a negative nancy.  It was unintentional, I promise.

The other day, in my Marriage and Family class, I learned about something called "The magic ratio".  And what is the magic ratio, you ask?

5:1

If you say one negative comment, you have to say 5 positive comments to counteract the negativeness.

So today on this Thankful Thursday I would like to list 5 positive things about today:

1. I love that fall has finally come.  I want to stomp and roll in a throne of crunchy leaves. Bring on the sweater weather!

2. Hazelnut Steamers-because they keep me all toasty in this pretty (wet) Logan town.

3. Friends and Family who call me.  They make me laugh and smile.

4. After this semester, I will only have one more semester of Aural Skills.  And let me tell you, when that day comes, I will be hanging from the chandeliers.

5. Last but not least, I am grateful to be at school learning and growing.  I'm so blessed to be surrounded by beautiful music everyday.  It truly makes my soul smile.

6. (I know it's only 5, but I couldn't resist) This blog slash video made my day.  Hopefully it'll make yours too.

How about you?  What brought a smile to your face today?

Oh what a day is today.

"Nothing can stand in my way.
Now that you've shipped out from under my skin,
I think I'm ready to win.

Oh what a way that we die,
plenty of tears were supplied.
my eyes are wrung out and dry as a bone,
but I taste much better alone.

Something good,
Something good.
Now that you're gone
I can roll on to something good."

And, yes, I just quoted Ingrid.

It's amazing what that realization can do for a person.
It's like a warm blanket covering your doubts and fears.  Realizing that you're better off now.  Realizing that you're in a better place than you've been in some time.  Realizing that you deserve SO much more.  Marvin J. Aston once said:

"A true friend is one who is willing to take us the way we are, but is still able to leave us better than he found us."

And that's all I want--a true friend.
