The red headed temper strikes back...

When I was younger I used to deny the existence of the red headed temperament, but with each passing birthday, I realize that it is a hidden truth deep inside each and every ginger.
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but, I feel like it is something I need to publicly accept.

I, Caitlin Craig, a fellow ginger, recognize the existence of the temper that may arise (be triggered) in every ginger from time to time. And I would like to apologize to any past, present, or future offenders. I know that I am bold, and guilty, and I promise to work on this. I am deeply sorry, and I hope that you can accept my sincerest apology.

Signed, your favorite ginger,

Jane Austen and the reactionary plight of expectations.

I'm writing an essay about how literary hotties, like Mr. Darcy, give women high/unrealistic expectations in love and relationships.

My question for you is: why do we idealize male characters like Mr. Darcy or Captain Wentworth?

May the discussion begin!

A little Auld Lang Syne

Well ring out the old and ring in the new, it's 2013! I hope everyone had a happy holiday season.
We got lucky enough as to have a white Christmas here in Utah! And my whole family was here to enjoy it with me.
Les Miserables was great! (I will be writing a later post about my thoughts on the movie)

As I reflect on 2012 and all my adventures I feel extremely grateful for all the wonderful people in my life. Thank you for making this past year memorable! And most of all I feel incredibly grateful and indebted to my Heavenly Father. I have truly experienced countless miracles this past year that remind me that God lives and loves us. May we always remember Him and his hand in our lives.

I received an ukulele for Christmas this year, so start expecting some covers on this here blog periodically.

Happy New Year!
